59th Nigeria’s Independence Day

Super Eagles stars are in buoyant mood on the occasion of Nigeria’s 59th independence day anniversary celebration and have sent their best wishes to their country people.

October 1st is a special day in the annals of Nigeria. It marks the day the country got her independence from Britain.

And a number of Super Eagles players, as well as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took to the social media to celebrate the special day.

The custodian of Nigerian football, NFF wrote on its official Twitter platform on Tuesday: “Happy Independence Day to our beloved Country. #NigeriaAt59 #HappyIndependenceDayNigeria #NFF.

Happy Independence Day. Najia @59,” captain of the team, Ahmed Musa wrote on his Twitter handle.

Happy 59th Independence to our beloved Nigeria,” vice-captain of the team, William Troost-Ekong tweeted.

Everton new boy, Alex Iwobi, posted his Independence Day message also on Twitter with an image that highlights fellow compatriots who featured for the Premier League side before him, namely; Daniel Amokachi, Joseph Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Victor Anichebe.

Lille of France striker, Victor Osimhen also tweeted. “Happy Independence Day to my beloved country.

Odion Ighalo, who retired from international football after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt was not left in the celebration.

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain Vincent Enyeama is also in celebration mood. “Happy Independence Day. May our land be fruitful and yield her increase ,Enyeama tweeted on his Twitter platform.
